June 6th Commissioner Meeting – Operational Inbreeding and Disregard of the Law

CREATIVE INTERPRETATION OF AND DISREGARD OF THE LAW ALONG WITH OPERATIONAL INBREEDING REIGNS SUPREME HERE IN STOREY COUNTY

Nicole Barde posted her write up on the County Commissioners Meeting on June 6th. I enjoyed reading it and you can too by clicking here.

Her Headline is pretty descriptive of her disdain for the manner in which Storey County is terrified to look outside the safe confines of the 55 gallon Kool Aide drum to find the best and the brightest minds to improve county governance.

The reasons they are unwilling to improve the team are now obvious to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention; to maintain strict control of the people and the money. If someone new comes in with experience beyond a Virginia City High School Diploma, they are considered a threat. “They” don’t know the way things are done here and will take years to train. “They” just may discover the unethical or downright illegal way things get done and might just pitch a fit.

Sadly, we will never know because the Good Old Boy network plays the Good Old Boy Shell Game and the “pea” remains safely hidden from the Rube’s view.

During public comment on the It’s not Gary Hames, it’s Battle Born Cousulting” I bore down on the whole question of competitive bidding. The hypocrisy with regard to how this county applies the free market and the competitive bidding process in county governance illustrated in the course this meeting is mind numbing. I still don’t think the Gang of Four (Whitten, McBride, Gilman and McGuffy) fully understand how they collectively said they were all for the free market open bidding process when it comes to transporting sewage and then forty minutes later said it is evil and not at all how we roll in Storey County by keeping the sewage safely in the community cesspool.

There was so much to digest in this meeting I have decided to produce a podcast with audio commentary and the official proceedings together so readers and listeners here can fully appreciate the way The Gang of Four bamboozled Battle Born Consulting through the back door.

Consistency in governance is critical to maintaining integrity and the consent of the governed.

Sadly, all that seems to be out the window here in Storey County. Anyone paying attention has already come to the conclusion that if you believe once your integrity is gone the rest is easy, the going is really easy here in the Richest Place On Earth.

  1. For a very historical or should I say hysterical town, The county leaders are a bunch of clowns, This is the most corrupt places I’ve ever seen,They have no respect for law or the people who live here, There has got to be a way to get the state involved in a investigation.
