“The Courthouse parking lot has been completed and is open. This is a great benefit to the community and tourists alike. Several electric car charging stations will soon be installed as well as signs indicating any parking restrictions.”
Just saw the above post on the County Commissioner minutes.
So, will these “electric car charging stations” be free? I know that the cost for recharging is not exorbitant, but the machines that do the charging can’t only cost a few hundred dollars. So, these expected thousands for the purchase of the “stations” will also be piled on the bill for the glorious parking lot. Another great benefit of living in this county is that now we’re also subsidizing people’s electric car charges. It’s not like tourists can’t charge their cars at the hotels at which they’re staying (where they’re spending far more money on average for a room/meals/gambling), and then drive up here. Or charge them at their homes. It’s not like someone is going to be driving from Sacramento to VC in an electric car. Anyone driving an electric car will either “fuel-up” at home before their excursion (if they’re relatively close), or get charged at the hotel at which they’re staying.
I also saw a report on legislative bills in the minutes. Are we going to get a report of how many bills total were of concern to Storey, and how they were lobbied? It would be only right that the taxpayers know what they’re getting for the cost of their paid lobbyists.
