Santa and We Care Volunteers Host Mark Twain Christmas Party

Santa Comes To Mark Twain

Sheriff Antinoro and We Care volunteers from Mark Twain and the River District joined Santa Claus to spread holiday cheer at the Mark Twain Christmas Party. More than 100 people enjoyed Spaghetti Dinner prepared by Sheriff Antinoro and his family Laura and Madison. Santa posed with nearly 40 Mark Twain kids fro a picture on Santa’s lap. They then received three separate presents from the We Care and Mark Twain volunteers.

“We really enjoy coming to Mark Twain to help Santa distribute presents to our Mark Twain Neighbors at the Mark Twain Christmas Party,” explained We Care Volunteer Larry Huddleston, “It is events like this and the one we held in Lockwood that really help keep the fabric of our community strong.”

Nearly a dozen We Care volunteers came from Lockwood to help Santa and his raindeers hand out Christmas cheer. Longtime Storey County Sheriff Officer John Michael Mendoza manned the camera with Santa. Marilee Miller from Rainbow Bend printed pictures of each kid sitting with Santa. I really enjoyed sharing a meal with Santa and my Mark Twain neighbors. Watching happy faces on the young ones brighten as they got their goodies from the event made my day.

Volunteers hosted this party and it cost taxpayers little to nothing to put on.
