May 1 Commissioner Meeting Review – bardeblog.com

May 1 Commissioner Meeting Review from bardeblog.com

Nicole Barde continues her yeoman work having endured another Storey County Commissioner meeting and filing another insightful report.

In her article she highlights, among other things, the remarkable disconnect that is the information loop here in Storey County; that of informational osmosis; you don’t get any information unless it is rubbed off from an amoeba or paramecium as you float around in the primordial soup.

There is no outreach or communication of any kind save the regurgitation of the actions of the Commission via Pat Whitten and his meeting summary.

She also highlights Marshall McBride calling me a wannabe journalist and a guy who pushes “misinformation and flat-out lies.” You can read about some of these “misinformational lies” here and here and here.

Don’ Be A Hater

While I understand  Commissioner McBride’s anger, it may be misplaced.  Rather than being upset at me for reporting the numbers provided by the State of Nevada and Storey County, he should be upset at how they got that way. Rather than focusing on me airing the County’s dirty laundry, perhaps he and the other Commissioners should roll up their sleeves, take the laundry to the river and whip out the washboard.

Back in the day, grandpa used to say “Don’t kill the messenger!”

I prefer the vernacular of today’s youth: “Don’t hate the playa’, hate the game.”

Game On!
